Journey through time and around the world in a visual treat of an exhibition where great art meets great craft. See how artists have transformed the animal world into stunning stylised forms such as Peruvian weavings and Javanese batiks. Enjoy the work of artists from as far afield as Ancient Egypt or nineteenth century Asia to contemporary Britain. Find images of animals including lobsters and lions, donkeys with dragons, birds beside beasties.

Drawn from across the collections of Reading Museum, The Museum of English Rural Life and Reading people, this is a show for families and creative thinkers to explore.

It will be complemented by an animal mad half-term for children at Reading Museum as well as talks and events at The Museum of English Rural Life.

Get creative and join in the unusual workshops and artist's days for adults or the animal themed children's activities.

Part of Museum Partnership Reading, a new cultural initiative funded by Arts Council England.
