31 May 10am and 11.15am, 1 June 10am and 11.15am

Venue: Reading Museum

Create your own air dry clay tiles to take home and paint after a few days, in our 1 hour workshop using mini-tile carved clay stamps. Working with both simple cut shapes and square templates, you can design something unique using traditional tile patterns found on tiles from Reading Abbey and from further afield. With a chance to handle original medieval tile fragments and with an explanation of some of the meanings of the patterns, this is suitable for children of all ages and abilities, with easy to use tools and all the means you need to carry your tiles safely home.

Your workshop leaders are Karen and Charlie Slade, who have made replica medieval tiles for Cathedrals, Museums and even for a Disney film, since 1996.
